1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to remember information about you or your visit. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels and fingerprinting techniques.

2. What we use on sandbanksdigital.com

This website is deliberately lightweight and sets no cookies at all. We do not use Facebook Pixel, Google Ads remarketing tags, behavioural advertising trackers, or any first-party tracking cookie, and we store nothing in your browser's local or session storage. If you arrive from an ad or campaign link, the campaign reference (for example a utm_ tag or a gclid) is read from the web address only at the moment you send an enquiry, so we can attribute it to the right source — nothing about that is stored on your device.

The only category involved is:

• Analytics — cookieless: we measure traffic with Umami, which we host ourselves at analytics.sandbanksdigital.com. It sets no cookies and stores no persistent identifier on your device, and it does not store your IP address — your IP is used only momentarily to estimate your approximate location and to count your visit via a daily-rotating, site-specific code that resets each day, so you can't be recognised across days or on other websites. It records the pages you view, your referrer, approximate location, and browser / OS / device type. No cookie or consent banner is required; if you'd rather not be counted at all, you can block the script in your browser.

3. Third parties

Our website analytics run on Umami, which we host ourselves on our own infrastructure (analytics.sandbanksdigital.com). Your usage data is not shared with a third-party analytics provider such as Google, and no analytics cookies are set. We no longer use Google Analytics.

Other third-party embeds we may use occasionally (e.g. an embedded YouTube video on a guide page, or a Google Map on a contact page) can set their own cookies if you interact with them. We avoid these where possible.

4. How to control cookies

Because our analytics are cookieless and we set no advertising cookies, there is no cookie banner to accept or reject — there is simply nothing non-essential to opt out of.

You can still clear or block cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you refuse third-party cookies by default. Doing so will not affect the basic operation of this website.
