Web Design for Restaurants, Cafés & Bars in Dorset

Mobile-first venue sites with bookings, menus, events and gift vouchers — built to convert hungry guests at 7pm on a Friday, not to win design awards. Built by two Dorset founders who actually eat out locally.

Common problems

Where most venue websites lose covers

Six patterns we see again and again, on Dorset venue sites and beyond.

Bookings split across three systems

OpenTable for covers, DesignMyNight for events, a Google Form for private hire. We bring all bookings into one place — your dashboard, one inbox.

Menus out of date

A printed PDF menu uploaded in 2022. We build proper menu pages your team can update in seconds, with daily specials, allergen flags and Google rich-snippet support.

Mobile experience that pushes people away

Most guests check your site on a phone, on a sofa, deciding where to eat. Slow, fiddly pages cost you covers. Our Next.js builds load in under a second on 4G.

Invisible on Google Maps

Your Google Business Profile is half-empty and your website does not signal to Google what type of venue you are. We wire up the structured data Google actually reads.

Events not converting

Christmas, private hire, brunches — most venue sites bury these on a sub-page nobody finds. We build dedicated event landing pages with structured sign-ups.

Photography that does not sell

Stock photos and dim phone shots. We help brief or arrange the right photography for the brand — and we know how to layout food shots so they actually convert.

What we build

The complete hospitality stack

Custom booking systems

Either a clean integration with OpenTable, Resy or SevenRooms, or a fully bespoke booking system we build and manage for you — no per-cover fees.

Menu pages with daily updates

Menus your team can edit in a CMS, with allergens, prices, sections and chef's specials. Includes structured data so Google can read them.

Event landing pages

Dedicated pages for Christmas menus, supper clubs, private hire, weddings — each with its own structured sign-up flow.

Gift voucher stores

Sell gift vouchers and dining experiences directly from your site, with Stripe payments. No per-voucher commission to a third party.

Gallery & brand photography

Hand-laid out gallery sections that show off the room, the food and the team — built for mobile, optimised for speed.

Google Business & local SEO

GBP optimisation, structured data, review schema, location markup — the foundations that put you in the local map pack.

Process

From kickoff to launch

01

Tasting

We visit the venue if we can — Dorset trips are easy — to understand the room, the brand and the booking flow.

02

Scope

We write down exactly what the new site will include — bookings, menus, events, vouchers — and quote a fixed price.

03

Build

We design and build with a staging URL from week one. Your team can review menus, bookings and content live.

04

Launch & GBP

We handle DNS, redirects, GBP updates and review snippets. After launch you are on a retainer for ongoing menu updates and changes.

FAQ

Common questions from venue owners

Do you integrate with OpenTable, Resy or DesignMyNight?

Yes. We embed and style any of the major hospitality booking platforms — OpenTable, Resy, DesignMyNight, SevenRooms, Tock — so the booking flow feels native to your brand rather than dropped in. If you want to migrate off one of them onto a bespoke system, we can build that too.

Can you build a custom booking system?

Yes. Custom booking platforms make sense once monthly commission on OpenTable or Resy starts to feel painful — typically around 30+ covers per day. We build floor-plan-aware, multi-area systems with deposit-taking and SMS reminders. We host and manage it — no per-cover fees.

How fast can a restaurant site go live?

A focused restaurant site — homepage, menus, bookings, events, contact — typically goes live in four to six weeks. If you need to be live for a Christmas push or a launch event, we plan around that and can move quicker when the scope is tight.

Do you do photography, or do I provide it?

We do not shoot photography in-house, but we work closely with local Dorset food and venue photographers we can recommend. We will brief the shoot list, art-direct the shots we need for the build, and lay them out properly. If you already have a library, we will work with that.

Do you work with single venues and groups?

Both. We have built single-venue sites and multi-venue group structures — group brand sites with individual venue sub-pages, each with their own bookings, menus, address, GBP integration and structured data. Strong for local search and for SEO across each location.
